From June 14th to 18th, the 2024 Annual Academic Meeting of the Scientific Research Branch of China Medical Association of Minorities (CMAM) and the Training Course for Improving the Scientific Research and Innovation Capacity of Ethnic Medicine has been held in Urumqi, Xinjiang. The meeting is hosted by CMAM, and co-organized by the Scientific Research Branch of CMAM, the Chinese Medicine and Natural Medicine Pharmacology Committee of Chinese Pharmacological Society, and Uygur Hospital of Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region. The conference mainly discussed the discovery, promotion, innovation and improvement of ethnic medicine in China. Domestic experts and scholars engaged in ethnic medicine research have been invited to share the latest research results and experiences, and academic exchanges and discussions are conducted.
On behalf of ITMCTR, Ning LIANG, associate researcher of Institute of Basic Research in Clinical Medicine, China Academy of Chinese Medical Sciences, delivered a keynote speech entitled “Registration and Reporting of Clinical Trials in Traditional Medicine”. The speech mainly introduced the development history of clinical trial registration, the importance of establishing a dedicated traditional medicine registration platform, the basic information and functions of ITMCTR, and the suggestions for filling out registration items. The relevant reference standards for reporting clinical research results have been presented as well. All of these are hoped to further assist clinical researchers in prospective registration of protocols and improve the registration efficiency and quality.
The holding of the meeting provides a good platform for the high-quality development of ethnic medicine and the improvement of scientific research capabilities, and this keynote speech plays an active role in enhancing the recognition of ITMCTR among researchers of ethnic medicine, and promoting high-quality registration of clinical researches in the field of ethnic medicine.
